That which initiates the start of any litigation. All parties must be in attendance for the case to be heard. That’s where I come into play. The phone rings or I get an email describing the services that need to be made. I usually ask for all information pertaining to the person that needs to be served. I want a good physical description. height, weight, hair color. A current picture would be great. Any vehicles, work and home addresses. And, the schedule of the person to be served. I do try to verify all addresses before going out into the field. Phone numbers are also good because I can sometimes get an address from t he phone number in cases where the address is bad. There have been many cases where I wound up at a vacant home looking for the defendant to be served. Needless to say, it can be frustrating. I usually do not need help or outside interference from customers who mean well but tend to get in the way. Once I have the job, I know exactly what to do. However, I do welcome viable help like the schedule of the person, vehicle information and any other detail that will help me get the serve done as quickly as possible. Process Service can be very dangerous and I can’t stress it enough to have as much accurate information about the defendant to be served so that I can effect service promptly.
